Failing HDD Identification
I have an N4100+ with 4 HDDs in a RAID5 configuration.
I have had a couple of month ago several RAID re-build warnings but I only got those warnings via emails as I was away.
I have now regular Windows messages indicating that "writing [a file name] has failed and is delayed", the files Windows tries to write are located on the N4100+.
I guess I have one of the HDD failing.
How can I identify the guilty one(s)?
Wouldn't it it possible to have included in the email and log book of the N4100+ the identification of the HDD which causes the re-build? If there is a LED blinking to point it out, I guess we could have that info, right?

Re: Failing HDD Identification
Can't you log in to the box remotely/ If there's a problem the log should tell you.
Yes, it's certainly true that you can't check the LEDs from 200 miles away ! :-)
FWIW, when usign 2nd copy to write backups of entire drives to our 4100, it's not entirely uncommon to get a Delayed Write Failed once in a while.
Re: Failing HDD Identification
Sadly, the log does not show anything re. the failed HDD.
This is a feature I'll look at in the future.
However, I just look at replies in TheCus User Group and got this link: http://thecususergroup.proboards106....ead=335&page=1
