    Ps3 & N3200

I am running a N3200 and Ps3 - but I cannot get the PS3 to detect it as a media server. It works fine with a dlna on my PC and runs off the nas no worries.

I was of the understanding the N3200 was DLNA compliant and therefore should work no worries.

Latest firmware on both and media server enabled on the NAS. Any suggestions?

    Media server is enabled.

What do you mean by 'any folder opened'? The PS3 is not 'seeing' the nas at all - comes back with no media server found. The PS3 works fine with the PC and can stream from the NAS via the PC.

My PS3 is also not seeing the 3200 as a server. The option to enable the media server outlined in the manual is not available on the 3200 I took out of the box today.

RTFM!!! After I applied the firware on the CD all features are avaiable! During the update it is hard to tell you are actually updating, but all the new functionality is there!!

Now I hope it formats my 3 new 1 Terrabyte drives RAID 5 OK!

Yeah same here, everything else is working fine. well bar the web album functionality and the damn DLNA with PS3.

If you have the chance I would personally return it....well if the DLNA is important to you and get something that runs twonky. FYI The N3200 wont run slimserver either.

Why would I return a great product? After I updated the firmware everything is working like a champ. DLNA is working flawlessly! Watched "I am Legend" this weekend on the PS3 (streamed from 3200). No problems at all! I would highly reccomend a gigabit network with Jumbo frames enabled. I was getting some DLNA errors when I had it on my 10/100 switch!

The Itunes server also works great, the 3200 appears as a Share within Itunes & my wife is happy.

Next up is workiing with the BT server & formatting the 3 new 1TB drives coming this afternoon!

Thinking about trying out the 5200 Pro ISCSI interface at work. Might be a cheap way to add some much needed storage at work. The 3200 is my first Thecus product, and I am impressed!

Install TWONKY on your N3200 and be done with it.

    Dear Sir,

    Thanks for your mail.
The N3200 DLNA fucntion support most of DLAN player, due to SONY PS3 video decoding difference form other DLNA player, thus we need doing some modification for compatibnility issue, thus we would mark your email until new firmware support PS3, also we could try on SOFTDMA to verify N3200 Media Server function from PC.

    Re: Ps3 & N3200

I was researching and came across this thread ...

Looks like PS3 compatibility with Thecus N3200 is fixed. There was a firmware patch for it in beta released recently ... can't post any hyperlinks, but I came across a new article at cnet. search for these keywords:

    n3200 ps3 dlna patch

the name of the article is "PS3+PSP = Watch your own Videos EVERYWHERE!"
