1. It is for PPPoE only, and didn't get such fee back eyt, thus would you please tell us what version firmware with this issue?
2. Due to the system limiation N299 doesn't support the spin down function, but we still doing our best as possible, due to some user would get PPPoE issue, thus why we post this beta version on the internet, not for spin down.

Hey, I wonder why thecus's product still bundle with crappy function?
Did you ever seen your competitors' product?
Do you know the frequency of Synology, QNAP firmware update is higher than your thecus???

Your marketing strategy is rubbish, did you even know your customers' need?
we really want HDD sleeping mode, SMART monitor.
Now Synology released a new firmware supported those basic function as well as Batch Users Creating, Virtual Host .... etc.
Will you consider to add these function in N299???
Although N299 is a basic model for home user, it's not a excuse to reject all our needs.

You have no knowledge about your own firmware? There were several discussions about the power button not working anymore for shutdown since firmware xyz (don't know which one because when I made the mistake to buy a N299 it already had firmware where the power button didn't work anymore for shutdown) and the answer from Thecus was that it was changed by design (so people can't shutdown by mistake so easily...).

That's ridiculous. How much resources would a "hdparm -s 30 /dev/sda1" need? I know that 1.0.0.34 has been posted to solve other problems but the pure existence of a power manager option seems promising. I really hope the spin down function will be implemented shortly. It is embarrassing that you dare to say Thecus has not been ablet to do so yet.

Hi,
while not being Yvon ... you can find an overwiew here and 1.0.0.34 can be downloaded by clicking here. I have not upgraded and can not tell what it will do to your data ;-)... typcially it should not erase data but of course a backup before upgrading is a must.
