    Question Hardware Modifications ???

    Hello,

    I have a N5200 Pro, i plan to Change RAM, FlashModule(DoM) and maybe the CPU.

    for Ram i allrady order VS1GB400C3
    Corsair VS1GB400C3 DDRAM 1024MB PC400 CORSAIR ValueSelect CL3

    for DoM i allready order TS8GDOM44H-S
    Transcend 8GB IDE Flash Module (44Pin Horizontal)

    Has anyone make any changes to N5200 Pro Hardware?

    I've thought about upping the RAM in the past but never got any further than just thinking about it

    Increasing the size of the DOM I think is pointless. Thecus will only release firmwares that can fit in the regular size, and as that is the only thing that goes in the DOM by default there isn't much point in getting a large capacity drive.

    I have replaced the 92mm and the 40mm fnas in my N5200Pros, but haven't done anything with the fan in the PSU yet. Replacing the fans did make a little difference to the noise, but the drives are the biggest source so there isn't a lot of point.

    I think you would struggle to find a CPU to fit in the N5200 personally.

    If memory serves (and after 3 gins i wouldn't be too sure), the 92mm was this:

    Actually, provided there is some airflow, you could probably put a larger heatsinc on the processor and that would do. Something like one of these if there is enough space:
