I have 2 N5200PRO units, one fitted with 5x750GB and the other with 5x1TB.
This unit has been working well for several months, it is fitted with 5 WD10EACS drives of 1TB each.
Yesterday I upgraded the firmware to V2.00.14
I noticed that after this I had an email warning

After getting this email, I decided to turn off the raid array and switched back on when the thing had reached ambient temp(the hd's were all about 40C)
Sadly the unit will not now boot up. There was a smell of burning. On close inspection of the mother board in the top corner near the dual USB sockets, there is evidence of burning around R390 and C317.
As I have another N5200, I was wondering if I can save the Raid, by swapping them over as is.
Strangley I was planning on getting an N7700 or N8800 for backup purposes, but I note that they are not available yet. Isnt that just my luck.
Does anybody have any help they can offer?

Hi Chris,
You can swapping the discs to Your second N5200 and if the discs are OK the Raid and the data should be there.
Shut down the 2nd one - put every disc in the same tray as You had them in the 1st one - fire it up.

Peter
Dear Sir,
The area around R390 and C317 reated to CPU voltage support, the N5200/N5200PRO would unbootable from this area damaged, thus if confirm this area is damaged, please contact with your Thecus reseller for RMA service directly.
The N5200/N5200PRO support RAID HDD romaing, we could move the RAID HDD to another N5200/N5200PRO access data.
