Which N5200?

I am currenlty looking into getting a NAS and have strolled over to the Scan Website and am confused. They have four N5200's on offer at varying prices with different suffixes whereas on the Thecus website there are simply two 5200's.

What is the different between : -

N5200B
N5200 Roustor
N5200B Pro
N5200BR Pro

At the bottom end I would like to know whether the N5200B would make a better purchase than the N4100Pro as their prices aren't too disimilar? Above this I am not sure what you get for your money other than at the top of the range you get 4 gigabit ethernet ports, which is useful.

N5200 B and BR are old version.
CPU is 600MzH

N5200B PRO and BR PRO are new version.
CPU is 1.5GzH

'B' is having 2GbE lan ports which can support Load balance and failover.
and 'BR' is having 1+4 GbE lan ports.

and these PRO version are more powerful, because they support iSCSI target mode/ stackable/ mutiple RAID.... features are a bit more powerful then the old version.

PS. N4100PRO is a N5200B junior version. 80% same features, performance is similar, only 4 HDDs.

Ahhh, thanks for that. That seems to make a lot of sense.

So, is there much performance difference between the N4100PRO and the N5200B? The 4100 seems to be a new product and the 5200B seems to be almost obsolete. Should I stick with the newer one?

Do you want the 5 drives, or can you live with just 4?

The N4100Pro uses an AMD Geode processor and has 256MB of RAM, so is going to be less powerful than the N5200Pro by a considerable margin, especially if you load it up with additional modules.
