unable to run file system check N4100+

My replacement Thecus N4100+ has arrived, i wanted to do a file system check for my own peice of mind, as i was unable to back up the 1.4 TB of data i have on the 4x 1TB drives on raid 5.

But low and behold i am unable to do so, and to top it off, after i have tried the main GUI isn't accessable either. Which was my original problem, and the need for the replacement.

At least this time if i do a force shut down and then power up i get the main GUI back.

I have connected my laptop (IP set to 192.168.1.10) directly to the Thecus (IP is set to 92.168.1.100) then hold the reset button in, while still holding the reset button i press the on button, i have tried keeping the reset button held in for 10 and 30 secs (as depending where you look some say 10 some say 30 secs) neither allow Me to access 192.168.1.100 so i am unable to run the file system check.

    Any ideas?

Re: unable to run file system check N4100+

I have been able to start the fsck.

    This is what I did:

    - uninstall ALL moduals, then do factory reset
    - once rebooted logged in and set time/date (so log file will be correct) and then powered off from shutdown menu
    - powered up the Thecus, then imediately pressed and held in the reset button for 20 seconds
    - after a few more seconds the Thecus beeped and 192.168.1.100 was accessable with fsck option

the addy 192.168.1.100 takes you to http://192.168.1.100/factory/fsck.htm

Leave the window open to see the results.
