N299 nas upnp?

Hi all,

I own a N299 NAS for a couple of days now.

On my normal PC I shared the NAS by SMB/CIFS protocol (public/browsable).
So I made 5 network maps for the different NAS mappings

O: [video]
P: [Album]
Q: [Itunes]

etc. etc. all work fine as network shares.

But.....

I also have Vista Machine (MSI Media Live). (no network shares, just UPNP)
On that I use: (not choosen yet)
Vista Media Center
XBMC
MediaPortal
Cyberlink SoftDMA

Vista Media Center: can not find the NAS
XBMC: can find the NAS but no access/browsable maps
MediaPortal: not tried yet
Cyberlink SOftDMA: can find the NAS but no access/browsable maps

I am lost: I thought that UPNP-AV was the way to stream media from a NAS to a Mediaplayer of mediapc.

Can anyone help me out here? Or do I have to use SMB/CIFS or NFS? (don't like to)

Dear Sir,

Following suggestion for your reference:
1. Update to N299 latest bet version firmware:
http://www.thecus.com/Downloads/beta...FW_1.00.34.bin
2. Enable the MEDIA SERVER function from NETWORK->MEDIA SERVER and choose the folder for shairing, alos please waiting a couple of time for system to generated the file list for sharing.

I do have te latest firmware.
Als also aktivated Media Server with 3 maps active (Itunes, Video and Album)

Also upnp is activated.

So Vista is seeing the N299.
Vista is does not reconnnect de SMB shares I made, without logging in first. (strange, settings are Public en browsable, no user or usergroups are made)

CyberLink SoftDMA also sees the N299, but not the maps. (upnp)
XBMC als sees the N299, but not the maps. (upnp)

What am i doing wrong?

Please sumit a ticket from http://esupport.theucs.com and provide the CONF.BIN for us to confirm the MEDIA SERVER is running or not.
SYSTEM->CONFIG MGMT->DOWNLOAD->CONF.BIN
