    n3200pro beta firmware?

    Hi,

A couple of weeks ago, someone from Thecus mentioned a beta release of a newer firmware containing an updated version of the Mediabolic (diabolical?) software. What is the status on this?

As my useless Thecus supplier is unable to provide any decent support to me, I thought I'd ask the question here. Urgent issues to address are: -

    1) Ability to playback MP4 video files
    2) Fixing the bug that prevent more than 10x music files in a folder being displayed on the PS3
    3) Better control for re-scanning media files

A much better solution here would be to provide an unlicenced Twonkymedia module - and disable the Mediabolic server altogether. That would make I and many other n3200pro users very happy indeed. I would also be able to use the n3200pro with an XBox 360 - It doesn't at the moment.

    Regards.

    Arrow Re: n3200pro beta firmware?

Further to my OP above, I've since found an updated beta firmware for the m3800/n3200pro, which appear to share the same internals bar the AV/HDMI hardware. Changes are: -

    M3800/N3200PRO beta firmware V1.00.03.3

    1. This is just a beta, not official release.
    2. Fixed the problem that ACL setting will be cleared when adding
    more than 22 local users.
    3. Fixed the issue that share folder name could not contain a space.
    4. Show fast forward speed on OSD. (For M3800 only)
    5. Fixed HDMI noise. (For M3800 only)
    6. File info:
    2008/12/17 06:55 37,025,248 M3800_N3200PRO_FW_beta_1.00.03.3.bin
    MD5(M3800_N3200PRO_FW_beta_1.00.03.3.bin)= 908350f58be1b9901cc6b96d7e63caf6
It can be downloaded from the Thecus Beta download area.

Does this version also include the newer mediabolic software?

Use at your own risk - Although I'd wait until we get some feedback from Thecus beforehand...

Thanks for that link JDub. Nothing there for the N5200 though, shame.
