Twonky or Tversity UPNP with 5200BR Pro
Hi Gents,
I'm using a Linn DS streaming device which plays back WAV/FLAC from the NAS. The NAS has a single 1 TB drive installed with my Music and I've tried using Twonky on the 5200 and also Tversity on my Vista 64 PC mapping to the NAS. I should note i'm using 2.0.8 Firmware on the NAS
Using both scenarios (or basically, any time music is stored on the NAS) the Linn has issues playing back the music. Songs wont load, will stop, refuse to play or skip.
When I put the same music on my PC's local drive, and use Twonky or Tversity, it works fine.
Therefore and according to Linn, the Thecus has some kind of issue. Certainly it must be the Thecus if it works fine using a PC only. Thecus is not Linn approved for this very reason.
I've tried opening a support case with Thecus and no one has responded, a search of the internet reveals users with the exact same issues - basically the Thecus doesn't work!!
Can anyone help me fix this issue or can Thecus get onto the case and resolve it? Ive spent $1000 on a NAS that does not work!
Thanks
Kris

have you tried the built in media streaming software by mediabolic ?
Re: Twonky or Tversity UPNP with 5200BR Pro
Thanks for your reply, yes but the issue is mediabolic does not support FLAC. Therefore, its unusable for me..
Re: Twonky or Tversity UPNP with 5200BR Pro
ahh balls i never thought of that:(
Re: Twonky or Tversity UPNP with 5200BR Pro
Got same problem with the N7700.
I find it unacceptable that they can leave this out of the product details. It says DLNA compatible and I assume that means I stream what you got regardless of format, as long as the receiving end can read it  I mean, who in their right mind would get a box like that with so much space and not use a lossless format for music. MP3 is not an option for me if I don't have to, I'd rather save the money and use TVersity.
Unless this is fixed ASAP I'll have to return the box as its useless for me without flac support :inquisiti
Really dissapointed at this point. Had hoped to move my music collection to the NAS.
Re: Twonky or Tversity UPNP with 5200BR Pro
Ive had my NAS for 6months, can I return it if its not doing what its meant to?
Re: Twonky or Tversity UPNP with 5200BR Pro
May be You try the new version of the twonkymedia module for the N5200 which contains now twonkymedia server 5.0.40.
