    N7700 and WD RE3 (WD1002FBYS) 1TB

    Hi

Anyone seen problems with these drives?

I bought a N7700, and these were in another NAS for 2 months. Want to move the 4 of them, plus 2 more, into a N7700

They are not on the approved list, but most other WD disks are.

    Ok

    Just got my N7700

    Using 5 drives in a Raid-5, 1 as a spare

Doing the Raid build right now

I'll see how the drives hold up tomorrow when I start a 2.4TB xfer to it.

Just be sure to use the WDTLER tool first, the use of WD drives is a good choice because with this tool you can make a change of the behaviour of your disks in a raid set.
Please look at the post below, probably if you don't edit your disks you will get the same problems I had earlier.

FYI - The WD RE3 has TLER Write enabled at 7 seconds and TLER Read disabled.

The Wiki on TLER says that is the optimum for a raid environment, and to leasve the default for RE2 and RE3 drives.

They are working like a champ

No error, up since I posted.

Even added a 6th drive to the mix

I'll also add that I've been using 5 of these in a 5200PRO with no issues as of yet...
