    N7700SAS Mixing SAS&SATA Drives?

    Hi,

I am wondering if we can mix SAS and SATA drives on the same enclosure with a n7700SAS.
I have searched for this question on the forum with no answer.
The technical specs are not clear if with can use them in a mixed manner or if we have to load the slots with full Sata OR full SAS.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

    Regards.

    Dear KraL2,

For maximum power and stability, it is strongly recommended to use SATA or SAS HDD only in
    N7700SAS.

    Re: N7700SAS Mixing SAS&SATA Drives?

    Hi,

I would remind that we are talking here about the n7700SAS not the pro version.
I forgot to mention that, obviously, if mixing disk they would be in different raid groups (per technology).

Is it possible and just unrecommended for stability and data safety?
Or unrecommended because of the inegal performances between these disks?
    Or simply impossible by design?
