Raid config dosn't save after drive instalation

Hi I have had an N299 given to me where the raid configuration doesn't save. I have configured the same unit in the past an it worked fine, now it doesn't remember any raid setup. The N299 has worked perfectly for months prior to this event.

Interesting if you log into the device and look at "status" "about" the "manufacture" and "product number" fields are a sequence of control chars probably nulls, and Firmware Version is set to V1.00.24 which uploads without a problem

The device accepts new firmware uploads, and remembers the clock settings. Someone else has changed the CMOS battery before I got a look at the problem, could this cause any serious problem?

I have reset the box to factory defaults and it recognizes the hard disk, however after the other user tinkered with it the N299 will not retain any RAID setup.

There are no flashing lights or warnings it boots normally and is on the network as 192.168.1.100

Interestingly enough the setup wizard can't find the device on the network either, which has alway worked in the past

    What works!

    1) The device boots recognizes the HD
    2) time can be setup and it retains this setup
    3) Can login via browser and configure device

    Whats broken

    1) Can't retain a raid configuration
    2) Setup application can't detect device on the network
    3) Can't get any further than raid config as after setting up raid and updating firmware to 1.0.0.24 the raid setting is lost after reboot
    3) Manufacture & product no fields are blank

    Dear Sir,

If possible please arrange other or signle HDD install on N299 as a JBOD volume, and try with N299 latest beta version firmware V1.00.37.
If system lose the RAID after system reboot still, please contact with your Thecus reseller/distributor for RMA or replacement service directly.

Re: Raid config dosn't save after drive instalation

This is the exact same problem I am having, but mine is approx 3 months out of warranty. So now I am left with a dead product. Not a very good product if it only lasts a little over a year then for no apparent reason stops working...
