    N5200PRO RAID Disappeared

    The following sequence occured:
I was rebuilding the RAID after replacing a hard disk number 3 on a 5 volume RAID array.
Due to a power failure (protected by a Uninterruptable power supply) I had to shut the N5200PRO down.

When I restored power, the RAID array started building again, with the correct disk marked as "spare" (disk 3).
The web page now said 7000 minutes to complete, which was much larger than the 300 minutes that it has said before shutdown.

In order to make the process start again and register the correct time, I removed disk 3 again and reinserted it.
The web page then said "damaged" for less than 1 minute before starting the rebuild again with 300 minute estimated time.

The device is now continuing to rebuild (250 minutes remaining), but when I click the "raid config" button on the "Network->RAID" webpage, it says "You do not have any RAID system". On the "Network->RAID" webpage it also says data capacity N/A. Access through SMB/CIFS seems to be turned off.

I had over 1 TB of data on this machine and would like to get it back.

    I have 2 related questions:
Even though the web page says I have no RAID system and SMB/CIFS is unavailable, will the RAID volumes return after the current rebuild?
Is there any other way of recovering my data from the machine?

    Re: N5200PRO RAID Disappeared

In the absence of a quick reply, I took the bull by the horns and did another reboot.

Strangely all my folders came back (woohoo).

It now says I need 1200 minutes (20 hours) for a rebuild????

    Anybody know what's happening here?

I think it's time to pull everything off the box and rebuild from scratch.

Update: It's now changed to 8000 minutes for a rebuild ... that's over 6 days!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I rebuilt a 4x 500GB RAID with 1 x 500 GB spare and it took over 4 days. I stick wiith the Thecus as I've already bought it but given the support, seeming cessation of releases of new firmware I won't be buying another one.

Check your disks on errors (newest beta fw 2.01.17 has it integrated) or with 'Info'-module (thecus wiki)on bad - or reallocated sectors. Maybe there is a faulty disk in your array causing troubles and delay.

remove it from the network, everytime something querys the box including the router the time will go up.

no network activity and it will drop back down.

like a divvy i started to watch a movie and my 12 hour rebuild shot up to 300 after i caught a drive bay dusting it.

    Re: N5200PRO RAID Disappeared

I've pulled everything off the box and I'm rebuilding the raid from scratch.
I was in the middle of doing an expansion via replacing disks one by one anyway.
