    M3800 ftp

    I have an e-ticket out for this, but I thought I'd explore the forums as well...

    I have set up an M3800, which in the main was easy (once I'd figured out that I needed a DMZ on a Netgear DG834G router in between my modem router and NAS...

    Anyway, I have set up an FTP server on the system, which I can access from the greater internet.

    My problem is that I cannot find out where to specify user control on the FTP - when I type in the URL, it shows the contents of my drive without any login screen / dialog box. Can someone please suggest where / how I turn on access control for the FTP server?

    Many thanks,

    Simon

    Dear Sir,

    Pleae config the FTP with following configuration:
    NETWROK->FTP->Allow Anonymous FTP Access->No Access
    Thus only the user account from the M3800 and assign with the folder ACL able to login.

    If user via Microsoft Explorer to access FTP, the explorer would preset as anonymous login, thus we need via other FTP client to instead or following method from explorer:
    ftp://USERNAMEASSWORD@YOUR-FTP-OR-SERVER-ADDRESS

    If user account and password both aaaa, and M3800 at 192.168.1.100:
    ftp://aaaa:aaaa@192.168.1.100
