    N5200Pro and 802.3ad working?

    Hello

today i have try to switch my N5200Pro to Link Aggregation 802.3ad.

The used Hardware/Firmware are so follow:

    NAS: N5200Pro / Firmware 2.0.16
    Switch: Netgear GS724T / Firmware V1.0.3_35

Both network interfaces from the N5200 are stripped to the ports 21 and 22 to the Netgear switch that supports IEEE 802.3ad (LACP). The activated "trunking" on port 21 and 22 on slot 4 from the switch. The Switch shows me that the ports 21 and 22 now are one virtuell port.

Switching 802.3ad on the N5200Pro on and done a reboot. On the shell looking for the network interface stauts but it shows me, that only one interface are used at this time for the bond0 interface. The Interface eth1 at Aggregator ID: 2 but why?

If i remove the wire from eth0, then eth1 will used. But why will not both interfaces used at the same time?

Are anyone has 802.3ad modus running?

    Re: N5200Pro and 802.3ad working?

today i tested "Load Balancing". Both N5200 Ethernetports are used at the same time. At all Clients (XP, OSX, VISTA) the transfer speed are VERY POOR. Only 9 MB/s. Thats a shame. Or is it only at my environment? Any other users with faster transfer rates?

All clinets have a 1 GB Ethernet port.

Netgear GS724T does not support 802.3ad

Why do you think, it doesn´t support 802.3ad?

It support 802.3ad. Look at the datapage

    Re: N5200Pro and 802.3ad working?

"Port Trunking - manuell nach IEEE802.3ad"

There is no such thing as 802.3ad manual port trunking.
802.3ad is always dynamic, using LACP protocol.
The GS724T does not support LACP, so it does not support 802.3ad
They support trunking LIKE 802.3ad, but manual. So not 802.3ad compliant.

Shame on Netgear that they notice 802.3ad in this way, suggesting support for it without doing so. They fool their customers. I ran in that trap too (having a GS716T). Possibly my last Netgear product.

    Take a look here:
    http://forums.hexus.net/thecus-care-...n8800-pro.html
Maybe you can use trunking mode balance-alb like i did on my N8800PRO.
