M3800 playback of AVI randomly exits

I am having issues with avi playback in that I haven't been able to watch an avi from start to finish. The M3800 will randomly exit playback and start playing the next avi it finds.

I've updated to latest beta firmware but makes no difference.

After several random exits the M3800 locks up and the only way to gain control again is to reboot the M3800 twice

I raised a ticket with Thecus but its still open haven't had any feedback yet.

Do people have much success with avi's or are people using a different format?

Dear Sir,

The AVI file would contain with difference coder, thus please assist us to verify the AVI video belong to XVID, H.264 or VC-1, or please provide some sample file for us to duplicate this issue from our site.

I returned the unit to my vendor as faulty. On receiving my replacement unit all my problems disappeared and the unit functioned as expected.

It would of been a more positive experience if Thecus support could have diagnosed a faulty unit rather than me just giving up and returning the unit.
