ADS Connections

Hi,

I am running a domain with 43 users on windows server SBS 2003. I recently connected a 1u4500r thecus to the network and am having trouble connecting it to the ads. I continually receive the following error message when I fill out the following:

Domain Name: dyldam.local
ADS/NT Support: Enable
Authentication Method: ADS
ADS Server Name: Server
ADS Realm: dyldam.com.au (Not sure if this is correct however)
Administrator Id: Administrator
Administrator Password: ***********

The time zone and time is correct.

Error: DNS Not Setting
Error: ADS Server or ADS Realm Error
Error: Fail to join ADS Domian.

Can anyone please help.

I think your ADS realm is your problem. The domain name is normally the older format (ie the NETBIOS domain name), and the ads realm would normally be what you have for domain name.

Is the time synched to a domain controller?
