Dear Ivan,
Are there any plans of providing this new and advanced UI for n7700 NAS, through a firmware update ? Are there any release dates for this ?
Best Regards,
Tri Stratos
i look forward to using this :)
Dear tristratos,
The new AJAX user interface will eventually be available on all Thecus NAS.
however, we do not have a scheduled release date for each NAS at the moment.
Please visit www.thecus.com frequently for latest update.

And just as I was about to start testing some Qnap units with Ajax! :)
If the new firmware can be rolled out to the existing product lines (especially the 5200s and PRO variants in my case), I'll be pleased :)
So the 4100 Pro will be on this list?
Dear Wegg,
The New AJAX user interface will be available on the N4100PRO in the next few months,
I am unable to provide you with an exact data at the moment.
Please visit www.thecus.com frequently for latest updates.

A few comments about the AJAX interface (I own a N0503 myself) :
- it's nice that Thecus is using the ExtJS library, but why not use it fully instead of mixing and matching it with "old" HTML ? Right now it looks like a HTML interface with AJAX tacked on.
- in many panels, you have to select a row (user, file, etc.) and then click "Edit" to edit it. It would take 2 lines of code to allow the same by just double-clicking the row
- on my NAS, clicking on "fan" or "temperature" buttons below just bring the same old status page. Clicking on "network" does nothing.
- also it seems the admin page is loading some files (images, CSS or javascript) that are actually missing (404 returned). Either this is some old code that needs to be cleaned up or something is really broken
In my opinion the interface looks a bit unfinished. Its going in the right direction but it needs more work and polishing. This could very easily be improved to look and handle a lot better.
Dear MartiCode,
Thank you for your comments and suggestions and I will definitely forward them to the relevant department for reviews.
We are actually in the process of making some changes on the UI, so please look forward to it.
