Re: FTP and Media server problems on 4100 Pro

I'm having issues with not being able to connect to my Thecus through my router. I have created a video demonstrating the issue. In it you can see me successfully connect to another ftp server I have set up on a windows machine and how with nothing changed, it won't allow me to connect to the Thecus. :-(

    http://www.eggington.net/~wegg/FTPIssues_B.mp4

    AND!

The built in media server does not re-scan the contents of the folder no matter how many times you try. :-(

A video for that as well.

Twonkey Media Server works perfectly but. . . I don't feel as thought I should have to pay for something that I . . . in theory. . . have already paid for. :-(

I would love it if I could get some help resolving these issues. Support doesn't seem to like replying to my "ticket".

    Dear Wegg,

Please provide me with your ticket number.

For the media server issue, after you have rescan the folder, please also do a scan for
    media server on PS3.

What files do you have in other folders?

Re: FTP and Media server problems on 4100 Pro

Its all the same. .mp4 files generated from my little camcorder. They all work.

I have tried re-scanning for media servers from the PS3 but there does not appear to be any re-scan folders option on the PS3. With Twonkey and other media servers the folders updated as I make changes so I'm not quite sure there is a need to manually scan from the PS3.

JKU-72347-728 is my ticket number for the FTP issue.

FTP issues have been resolved! The LAN port for some reason doesn't allow connections from the router but the WAN port does. So now I can ftp onto my thecus from outside of my network. Yay!

    Dear Wegg,

Please try upgrade to the latest firmware on both N4100PRO and PS3 and try again.

Re: FTP and Media server problems on 4100 Pro

I have v2.01.09 installed on the Thecus and System Software 2.80 on the PS3. As far as I can tell thats the latest on both. No change.

    Dear Wegg,

There may be too many files or sub folders under one route folder, try open 1 or 2 new route folders
and move sub folders to the new route folders and try again.

But. . . it works on Twonkey!?! Is this not considered a bug? Couldn't you. . . go in there and fix it?
