Thecus N7700/N8800 and SAS Series RAM Upgrade - HOW TO ?

Dear Ivan/ Thecus,

I have just read your press release at thecus site regarding ram upgrading for Nas systems, including n7700 NAS that I happen to own.

Please inform us how can this be made, and what is the cost for such an upgrade ?
Can this be installed by us without ruining warranty ? Please specify!

Last but not least, ram upgrading affects only the perfornmace once multiple users access n7700 OR there is a segnificant boost for a single users usage as well ?

but of course:


CPu: 2.33ghz CORE 2 DUO Processor T7600 CPU SL9SD E1505

and memory:

Kingston ValueRAM, 2x2GB Kit, DDR2-667, CL5. (any other brand will fit of course with the same specifications...but better with a good quality.

before:

CPU Temp: 33 celcius

After the upgrade:
System Info
Firmware Version: 2.01.09
Product: N7700
Producer: THECUS
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz
CPU Temp: 31 celcius

As the die of th CPU is bigger....it's a bit colder than the original (you may have to clean up the cpu cooler and to apply some new thermo.


Ps: bear in mind ..these changes will break your warranty... (ok easy to go back with changing the parts...if any issue).
