    Hi,

    Just have a look there:

I didn't test the cpu you mentionned....

but with that one it works perfectly since several months with no issues.

    CPu: 2.33ghz CORE 2 DUO Processor T7600 CPU SL9SD E1505

    Re: n7700 cpu upgrade

I noticed a better answer (web gui), Raid was faster (as I'm using raid 6) . Iscsi really faster.

Probably if you are using some other modules like web server, media server, all will benefit of that.

I didn't do any other tests (no a lot ot time left). But for the price...you can find this cpu at around $100 or $200 on ebay...it rocks...

This Cpu is also colder than the original...it may due to the fact that the die is bigger and then...better contact.

    Re: n7700 cpu upgrade

Old thread but I hope lexos read this.

Any stability issues with long/large file transfers using the T7600?

One person had to go back to the original one due to this...

    @Gazer75

Hi, as you know there are a lot of strange issues with the N7700.

Since the changes, I never had an issue. I'm transferring large video files (blue-ray, mkv) every day as I'm creating some HD movies.

I'm only using iSCSI (with microsoft) and Cifs shares. Sometimes NFS but not a lot.

I'm also only using 1TB drives with Raid6.

The only thing to remember by changing the CPU.....as always..you have to do it right and of course be sure of what you are doing.

    Re: n7700 cpu upgrade

    Thank you lexos.

Now I have to find one to buy.
Getting a new one would cost me over $500, and used is nowhere to be found locally.
Buying used on ebay is an option, but I don't like it. Shipping over to Europe is expensive and its a mess if the seller is not serious. Then there is always the issue with a faulty cpu.

well in Germany (ebay). you may find some good person and cheap cpu...

Just to go back on the link you mentionned above.... maybe the issues were coming from the additional rams. I don't know this brand but I'm only using good ones, for example Corsair for the N7700 and Kingston for the N5200Pro.
