While I had everything fixed and restored back to working order, I still believe there is some underlying problem with the N8800. The person came remotely into my N8800 seemed to know exactly was he was doing. While I had a general understanding of what this person did, I was amazed at how fast he/she switched between various session (putty, web, windows command prompt, desktop, etc.) to get the task done.
My only assumption was that whoever fixed my N8800 must had done so very routinely. I hope they can produce some updates that would eliminate our issues for good.
