    Folder Sharing Problem?

Hi there I am sure this has been asked before... but was it ever resolved?

I want to have all my data available to me over the Web, however I am looking to restrict access for my friends and family etc to the various folders I set up for just me... BUT I dont appear to be able to differentiate.

If I set it up as Public everyone can see it and if I dont then no one can.

If I use ACL and move the users in to the deny / read only/ read n write it doesnt appear to make a difference.

I have an N2200.... am I doing something wrong?

I installed the download manager V1.0.11 but havent a clue how that helps me... I am thinking it probably doesnt actually help me in this case.

Anyone have a similar problem or is it a known issue?

FYI - I can access via ftp, http or https so if you say one way works or not etc then I will change my way of working. Thanks

    Ed

I believe you need to setup USERS. Then you assign accessibiltiy rights in ACL for each folder byt USER. When your USERS (friends and family) visit your NAS on the WAN, they enter their USER name and password you set for them and then they will only have access to the folders you setup.

it's not a problem. on the admin page, go to user and group authentication > user, then greate some users with password. then on storage > share folder, click on ACL and move the users in to the deny / read only/ read n write. now the folders can only be access with your friends with id and password via web disk or FTP
