yes updating the firmware didnt fix media server for E or F versions but I can live without it..
freecom nas my first nas drive works like charm upnp.. espc with the xbmc.org software ported to the pc
I wondering if this twonky media server module would work on this unit and bypass the firmware one
and solve the problem for good?
anyone taken the risk of trying it let us know

Does he just collect them like a train spotter or is he going to help.
My guess Thecus (and IVAN) have no clue at the moment.
Thecus- Do the right thing and stop selling your NAS until you have fixed the obvious Media Server issue!!!
Also can I have a reference code for when I return my N2200 back to 'Experts in Storage'.

I've found out that there is a Twonky Media Module for the N3200 which by all accounts has fixed the pathetic Mediabotic Media server issues for that NAS.
Are Thecus going to produce such a module for the N2200???

The known mediaserver issue is one thing but not having some info on the website or even acknowledging our tickets is unacceptable.
Can I suggest that a simple statement on the N2200 webpage on the Thecus website:
'There are software issues with the mediaservers in the following NAS'
In addition, tell your retailers like 'Experts in Storage' to stop selling the N2200 as your selling a known defected product and the damage to your reputation will take some time to repair (if it ever does). At least 1000 people have viewed the various threads explaining the frustrating issues users are facing with Thecus product and in particular N2200. That is just on this Forum. Search the net and you will see all the negativity there is regarding Thecus!!!
So now I guess I have to wait...how long??
Can you confirm when Thecus knew they had an issue?
Can I also have a code so I can return to my sellers?

I'm not sure I may be able to return the prodcut if finally, after 2 months waiting for a new firmware that never would have come, I decide to send it back to the website from which I bought the N220 !!!
Please Thecus, be aware that people who have bought your products are actually customers and please be aware that they paid for your products. How are we gonna do to get refunded (or what so ever) if we ran out of the "trial" period ? (I don't know how to say it specifically : I mean "the period during which you still have the opportunity to send back your order and get cash back without any additional fees" !!!)

I have also the same issue than everyone on this forum. Media server is not working at all. I have tried with my PS3, my TV set (which is DLNA-UPNP) and also a UPNP client running on my workstation, no joy...
I have noticed that 3.00.7 E worked better than 3.00.7 F as now the folder I tick are "added" (as per the pop up window notice) but the tick does not appear once it is validated. Besides, previously I was able to browse the repository and I was not able to see the files. Now, I can not even connect to the NAS without having an issue...

I recently tried to use the webdisk interface to access my N2200 thru the web and guess what ... ???
It just didn't work !!!
Actually, I can access my files but the screen is freezing everytime I try to do something (double-click on a folder, copy files, move files ...)
Well, I think it may be caused by the firmware (3.00.07F) cos I remember it worked somehow before I updated ... Anyway, the Nsync function also seems to stop at sometimes (seen in the "statut" tab).
I ended up by trying the last stuff I didn't try, the Itunes application, and guess what ... ???
Yeah ! Right ! It didn't work !!!
I can find the N2200 but when I try to sync my Nano, it fails !!!
It just won't help anybody but I think that this had to be said, if some Thecus people were chillin around in here, maybe they could try to fix it too !!!

I would like to confirm that I have sent back my Thecus 2200 and am waiting for my replacement NAS. I have decided to spend more to hopefully get something that will work!! If your interested I went for the QNAP TS-239 Pro II , which by all accounts is one of the best at £300. We'll have to see.
So goodluck to the rest of you who may still be having problems with the N2200.
