3GB memory limit

I've just bought a N8800SAS with 4GB memory. However it looks like the kernel isn't compiled with hugemem support, and therefore the system can only access up to 3GB of memory.

root@127.0.0.1:/# cat /proc/meminfo | grep MemTotal
MemTotal: 3114132 kB

I'm running FW 3.00.07a, can anyone confirm this?

Hello Shug,

I've installed a 8400GS in my N7700PRO, and the BIOS is only detecting just over 3GB of RAM. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the same problem on your N8800. Nice to see that Thecus are selling a product with actual 3GB useable RAM, branded as 4GB!

Having taken it to pieces it definitely has 2 x 2GB sticks installed, so this should be fixable via a BIOS update. So Thecus, when's that coming? Or should we start making noises around sale of goods act?
