    2 TB HDD Support

    Dear Thecus,

i had a Question about yout Product N5500. In your Compatibility List from Date 06.09.2009 you announced that the "WD Caviar Green WD20EADS" is Supported since "2009/08/17". Is this Compatibility List up to Date ? Are the HDD's supported with the actual Firmware yet? Are this Drives tested with actual Firmware ?

The actual Firmware is i mentioned is version 3.00.04.

I read some Threads in this Forum that some Users had compatibility Problems using WD 1, 1.5 or 2 TB Drives. Are those Problems Fixed yet ?

    With kind regards

    Nighthawlk

    Re: 2 TB HDD Support

I suggest opening a support ticket at Thecus (which is what I did; got the standard answer but at least I got an answer). I don't think they reply publicly on forums regarding support. I suppose that if enough people open up tickets regarding WD drive compatibility (such that it hits the monthly reports high enough for management to notice it), there might be something done about it .

Or if enough of us FILE A CLASS ACTION SUIT against Thecus for buying drives on their list that they then PULLED OFF, leaving us with $18k worth of drives that don't work with them.

If we hadn't figured out a DELL solution quickly, we would be in court right now with Thecus. We might still, since the Dell solution, which is working perfectly with the 2tb drives, cost us $3300 more

    Re: 2 TB HDD Support

I asked the same and their answer was to change the disks,... too easy for they to say that ... Only 7 disks, but they are for home use, so ,... a big money problem for me....
