n4200=garbage

I used a different cable with no better results. I just downloaded Iometer. i was just curious about setting this up for a test. How many workers should I use. I currently just have 1 set up. For Access specifications I just chose default. For disk targets I am just using a mapped drive from the NAS. I am using Win7 x64

I am using the wan port with a static ip.

have you checked you're using a Cat 5E or 6 cable? the E is important for gigabit as normal Cat5 will cause some routers/NICs to fail to negotiate properly. Normally it will say Cat 5, Cat 5E on the cable.

Be sure you're using one that says 5E for gigabit between the NAS, router and laptop.

I am using 5e. I am fed up with this thing and Thecus' tech support. I have a ticket open and I have last emailed them 1 week ago. What a joke. Honestly I will never buy another Thecus product again.

Maybe your WAN is having problem?

My N4200 has the following figure.
Read = 76 MB/s
Write = 83 MB/s

System : Windows 7, copying 2GB single file

With that attitude of you, it's best not to answer you ever! Come on, be polite!

N4200 having high speed transfers here. Looks like you have a problem in your own network setup and as far as I can read you're a starter with that. First check your environment before pointing out to others.

hold up. I bypased everything in mynetwork and plugged straight into the wan port and cant get over 10megs on 2 different pcs. I have been polite to tech support and have done everything they asked.i haven't heard anything in 2 weeks now. I an extremely upset with the service I have received. My beef is with thecus not any body on here.

If you're sure that the problem is in your N4200 NAS, why not returning it to your supplier and demand an new one to confirm your assumptions? You allready heard from people it can run on really nice speeds, so it's not the model design itself.

And for NAS devices there are a lot of good other brands, so your problem will be fixed soon if you take the next step
