    CMPSU-400CX died

    Hi,

A Corsair CMPSU-400CX I have on my wifes pc has died today. I bought it from Scan a little less than two years ago, and I see from the Corsair website that it has a three year warranty.

How do I go about returning it and getting a replacement? I did follow the link in the thread at the top, to the Corsair website Tech Support Express, but after selecting the power supply option, there wasn't my PSU in the next drop down.

Do you need the receipt or are details from the original order sufficient?

    Thanks, Jon

Your PSU is listed. It's at the bottom of the list.

Thanks for that. I wasn't aware that CMPSU-400CX was the same as CX400W.

    Re: CMPSU-400CX died

Just a quick one to say excellent service from Corsair.

Had it collected by DHL last Friday to send to The Netherlands. Received a brand new and slightly more powerful (400 -> 430) from UPS a week later. Excellent turn around

Hi jonny440 - Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have the exact same power supply that has died after just over a year (strong electrical burning smell). After reading your comments, I went on to the Corsair site and I now have a RMA. Did you have to pay for the return postage and if so did Corsair reimburse you?

As far as I can see, I have to pay for the return postage, but would be interested to know what your experience was. Thanks in advance

    Re: CMPSU-400CX died

Hi, I only paid for the outgoing postage, NOT the return postage. I used http://www.parcel2go.com/ and it worked out pretty reasonable. DHL collected from my door.

The service from Corsair was excellent. Received a new PSU in the post a week later. As I recall though I couldn't track the status of the RMA online, but I guess that was because the time scale was so short.

Thanks for replying jonny440. Mine went off 10 days ago. £15 postage mind - stupid having to send a £40 power supply to the Netherlands for repair... surely they could repair it in this country cheaper. Anyway, not heard a thing from them, so no idea what's going on.
    Hope they've actually got it.

Hope they don't send a 430 in replacement, as that doesn't have the same number of connectors as the 400.
