Ahh, to be fair that wasn't his fault. We had a few suspension failures during the first half of the first season. Buemi's faillure was his fault though; he just clipped the wall.
Senna had a much more interesting crash at Monaco last year: -

I think I was busy trying to fix his second car at the time!
To sort of stay on topic of being rear-ended, this one from Long Beach this year seems more appropriate.

They cancelled the race afterwards in Moscow, so the next race after this weekend, and the last one of this season (a season runs from September to July) is London 6 weeks later on 2-3 July. Although, thanks to NIMBY'ism at its best, the locals are trying to get that cancelled!

OH DEAR GOD
So I took the Passat out briefly. I hated every second of it. Barely moves at all at low revs, so I press the pedal a bit more, and it lurches forwards. Same when braking - barely slows down, or judders me out of my seat.
Everything to do going to/from stationary in this thing is horrid.
How do you petrol/diesel people do it? You have my abject pity. And it's 100% cemented in my mind that my next car will be a pure EV.
A bad throttle map is unpleasant to drive, as is a bad auto box, and badly implemented/over sensitive ABS. It sounds like your Passat has all that.
... or perhaps it is part of the fabled VW defeat device. Emissions will be much lower if you decide you would rather walk...
Seriously though, you can't blame a duff vehicle on the fuel. I'm sure you could stuff up the design of a pure EV easily enough.
