even though im still a PS3 boy through and through i have to say this:
80gig, 60gig, 40gig, 120gig, backwards compatibility, 2usb, 4usb . . . . . make a console thats going to have all the benefits before concentrating on no doubt another inferior version the the existing system!
XBOX: BauerPrime
I wonder what features they will be removing this time?
Probably blu-ray movie compatibility?
I keep thinking I'll get a PS3 but rumours such as these and announcements from Sony don't help matters. I'm always waiting for the next model.
Oh well, looks as though I may as well wait 'till Christmas now.
I'm tempted to ignore this as every month T3 seem to have an "exclusive" and mock up a new device (they did a PSPhone recently) and very rarely anything seems to come of them... but I could be proven wrong.
haha, i bet the big three make their next consoles really big to start with, just so they can then release a slimmed down version and then another one after that.

This is the situation I'm finding my self in too. I was hoping to get one by the summer, but if there is even the slightest chance of this slim one coming out then I am almost forced into waiting, and seeing what happens.
The way sony keep bring new models out you'd swear they didn't know what to do for the best, in light of the wii and 360 doing so well. I mean its only been out about 14 months and they've had 4 models with a 5th version on the way. If this slim one comes out around xmas then that would be 6 in 2 years.
I like the look of that slimmer one but I have a few issues that make me doubt it a bit: 1) is the position of the air vents. If you lay the PS3 flat with that design then they point downwards, so the hot air can't escape very efficiently. 2) When its laid flat there is going to be a gap under it, which I can't help but think would look very odd. 3) It might be a matter of angles & perception, but to me it does look too thin and compact to even house a 2.5" HDD let alone a 3.5" one.

I (ashamedly) would buy a PS3, if:
A) They went down in price again
B) They did in fact get slim.
The problem is, that they probably won't.
I find it very difficult to visualise how they could they could slim any size out of the monstrosity:
If they can't give me A and B... then i'll probably just go buy a dual Blu-Ray/HD-DVD player
Diablo (Main PC): Corsair Air 540; Gigabyte Z77-D3H; i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz; 16Gb Corsair Vengeance PC3-12000; 120Gb Samsung 840 EVO; EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid; 2x Dell U2414H; Windows 10 x64.
Imperius (VM Server): 2x Intel 5640, 64Gb RAM, 2x1Tb, 6x Intel NIC, VMware ESX 5.5
Tyrael (File Server): Synology DS410 w/ 4x HD154UI; 2Gb RAM; DSM 5.2
Come on guys, who cares about slim ps3's, Do you really live in a place so small that you need a slim ps3 or 'it wont fit'. And waiting for 'slim' ones to come out before your buy one is as mad as a bag of snakes!!! I want a big 50" hd tv but a diddy ps3???
Yeah i guess there are people out there that have everything set-up at their pc, rather than relaxing on a lazyboy in front of a massive hi-def tv.I have limited desk space where it would go
HMM i dont really see it as a problem, i own about 10 games and at the moment i'm playing about 4 of them, and i'm far from bored of it, it seems as i'm getting into one game another comes out to keep me going, but then we all have different tastes in games.Who cares how slim it is when it has less games than I have fingers that I would want to play on it?
