Smile Fallout 3 POINT LOOKOUT soooooo good

With Fallout 3 DLC I have found mainly that these have merit on what they add. Loot from the Pitt and Operation Anchorage. And the level cap and perks from Broken Steel.
But the actuall quests and story lines have not been anything special. And in the Pitt and Anchorage a lot of time is spent collecting suit cases or metal ignots.

Last night I downloaded Point Lookout.
This morning I have played a few hours. There is no real memorable loot so far. I've gained a Perk.

But OMFG it is brilliant so far. As polished as the main Fallout. It's polished like the main story in Fallout 3. Finally they are getting it really good. Already I have met a memorable character. In a couple of hours It has piddled all over the Pitt.

This is good. Anyone else playing this?

I won't be spoiling it for you. It is just soooo good to be in a new enviroment. Grass and trees. The exploration is back. You are no longer in a small enviroment or guided along on train tracks. The exploration is back. I'm already exploring abandoned buildings and finding little unmarked quest and a side quest.

Re: Fallout 3 POINT LOOKOUT soooooo good

Just finished the main quest thing. I have a lot more exploration to do and there are lots of different things to find like what you find of off holotapes and stuff.

Absolutley barking mad. Easily the best DLC yet. I won't say what happens but you'll never see it coming
You can see so much has gone into this.

I think I heard that a boxed copy will be out in Atumn with all 5 DLC. Although that may be in America. That GOTY edition is going to be excellent value for money.

Check out these on Game's website:

    Game Of The Year PS3

    PC Pitt and OA

    Fallout Add on PC

    And on 360 again.

These look set to be out out in a few days.

I have to say, Point lookout is a gem. And broken Steel adds just as much.

Personally, I thought that while it was nice that Broken Steel let you get to level 30, the quests in it were pretty rubbish, especially compared to the ones in the original game.

Wow thanks for letting me know, didn't know it was that good! I haven't played Fallout 3 yet and I was gonna pick it up soon for the 360 - but since the DLC combination packs may come out soon I'll hold tight a little longer. I'm not missing out on much by getting the 360 version instead, am I? Because I know Oblivion actually became the game it deserved to be with the right mods stacked on it.

Re: Fallout 3 POINT LOOKOUT soooooo good

Fallout 3 is already the game it deserved to be, so the X360 version is really good. But of course, the right mods will only make the PC one even better.

I have Vista 32 and GFWL works fine.

AS for starting again there is a fix for that.

When you set up GFWL you set up your gamertag. If you go into your docs\my games folders you can see your fallout 3 saves. All that GFWL did was create a new folder named after your Gamertag. So it's simply a case of copying your save to the new Gamertag folder.

I think it may only be the autosaves and quicksaves that work there. So you might want to check. but it definetly do not need to start again.

Downloaded this today after attempting many times to get GFWL to let me download the content I paid for (I hate GFWL with so much passion my socks are burning as I type). Looking forward to something new to do in Fallout 3.

There is a quite a lot in this DLC. surprising for a small download. You know when you have seen everything when you get the Bog walker achiement that lets you know you have found all locations.

Oh, and one quest answered one question from a side quest in the main Fallout 3 game.

Let us know what you rate it out of 10
