Any mountain Bikers going to Red Bull this year??

As title suggests; any MTBers hoping to go to the Red Bull (or whatever it's going to be called)?

Went last year and did team event - wkd fun

Charlotte wants to do it solo this year and I don't think I should eb outdone that way by the missus

For those of you that don't know the Red Bull (called Saab/Salomon 24hr last year due to change of sponsorship); it's a 24hr mountain bike race in the sunny shadow of Brum. It can either be done as a relay in teams of four (five if mixed cat.) or solo.

Just wondered if I could expect to see any fellow hexites out there this year??

i might go watch. its in sandwell valley park isn't it mate? then again, cross-country is rather damn boring to watch, so i may not. are there gonna be any side-events goin on mate, like trials or anyfink? if so, i'll mission over n support you lycra-clad wierdos, hehe. peace.

Yeah there were some unicyclists last year - crazy

Enough saddle sore with the opportunity to stand in the pedals - but on a unicycle OMG

Still great fun though and enough night riding to last you till next year (if your batteries last long enough!1

don't know about side events and the like there's normally a few bike stands selling cheap parts and the unicyclists are always worth watching.

To be honest it's a little early in the year to know things like that; haven't heard of any entry forms yet

Just wondered if I was likely to meet anyone of the forum.

so do mine shad. my bike is currently in winter hibernation with some nicely dented D521's and a buggered headset. i recon i could rebuild by old Diamond Back frame (sooo light its stupid) well enough to race. just outta interest, how many people per team ? if there was enough people from here to form a team, i'd race, even tho i aint the fittest of people, i recon it'd be a laff. peace.

i got a kona roast, a specialised p3, and orange mrXC, a sunn roader and an old bmx

you wont be able to do this solo unless you can prove serious training - ie previous long distance events and caffeen overdoses team event are less serious but its £60 each - the clic24 is a much better event (people are less competitive, so its nicer to be there)

    My ride:

More pics here mostly from outings to Pangbourne with some mates. There's at least 4 of us that would probably be up for a team effort.
