Question re: LN19051

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying the above motherboard but notice that you have mentioned some SATA ports might not be accessible. Would this be affected with a 8800gt card do you know?
I know it might be difficult to say but I have 2 x SATA hard drives and 2 x SATA optical drives so need the full compliment of ports (I presume the 2 x Black one's are for RAID?) and the board wouldn't be much use to me if I cant use them.

The length of the 8800Gt from face plate to back is 230mm NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Review - hosted by Neoseeker and this probably means that it will be very close to the edge of the motherboard which is 245mm wide.

Hmm yes looking at the pic on Scans website its going to go over the 2 end ports. Thanks for your help Oldjim.

I was just going to say looking at it it might block off the top two (one black one red)
from the card blurb

The JMicron controller provides another two Serial ATA connectors for RAID 0, 1, and JBOD functions.

Unless that's refureing to the external back I/O ports ??
should be ok with 4 sata in there.
Also you can use an angled sata cable to use one of the blocked ports so that should leave you with 5
