dvd writer question...

Well ive just noticed my dvd drive(recently ordered from u guys) is different on the front panel, is this where the picture you use is for illustrative purposes only? (really didnt see it anywhere). Mine looks a bit different with the drive open button a rectangle instead of circle, and it doesnt have samsung on it. It says toshiba and samsung technology and thats the most it says representing it as a samsung. any idea where i would find the model number on my drive? because i cant see it.

Now another question xD, i seem too have an unknown drive. The number i was given(on the order invoice) is 21399 but that links too this model Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK but thats the s203d model, the model listed in my account says s203P which is this one Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK the only difference i see is that 1 has light scribe and one doesnt, my drive says lightscribe right in the middle of the front panel, im guessing its the £20 one? it was on today only for something like £13.20
also the 203p is ment too have nero with it, i didnt get that.
Its more a query then anything and only just noticed it.

i found some more info xD, it appears the model is TS-H653N and a quick google shows it as the same as SH-S203N which i can conclude is not the model i purchased and so maybe some1 at scan can check into this for me.

guess i cant send it back under dsr now.... any chance you guys got an update? this is really annoying.

Sent it back under DSR it will cost more than drive is worth anyway. They are only £15.

BTW....nearly all DVD Drives are made by Toshiba or Philips. The other companies then just brand them as their own (well used to be like this anyway).

probably right blitzen, but its still not the point really as i got sent the wrong product and was wondering if they could just check it, understand they are busy and always have great support from scan but guess this isnt important now.

Ill just stick to a drive i have no idea what it is , probably is totally different then the drive i ordered as it looks completely different to the pictures of either of the models, no listing of a "for illustrative purposes only" or something so i really would like to know why mine is totally different.

Run everest and it will spec it and tell you who made it and distribued it.

well i did run everest last night and its the same thing as i know already, is a TS-H653N which is still no help.

Perhaps you guys can look into this now?
