Corsair PSU warranty question

Hi,

Im considering purchasing the Corsair HX450w PSU, however, I noticed you only provide 5 yrs warranty as opposed to what seems to be 7years elsewhere. Is this an error? Much appreciated if you can provide clarification.

As I understand it, Seasonic based PSUs are covered by a 5 year warranty while CWT ones are 7 years. The HX450w is a Seasonic:

Strange, but according to Corair's website it shows 7 yrs warranty, and other retailers state this too.

Would it be possible to have some clarification on this from someone at scan as I am looking at ordering one of these and am curious to find out if scan offer the 5 or 7 year warranty

7 Years in the USA 5 years UK but you also have to remember its 5 years back to Scan and we will handle the whole warranty.

And yet Paul if you have a look here: http://www.corsair.com/products/hx450/default.aspx, it's stated at the top the HX450W isn't available in the US!

On your site, it is also very misleading, it states '7 years' in the special features: http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductID=909753

Then anytime after that I can RMA for the remainder of the last 2 years via Corsair? i.e. 5+ 2 = 7 year warranty?

Well, no mention on Corsair website that the 7 year warranty only applies to U.S customers it's universal otherwise it would be included within Corsairs Terms.

If purchased from Scan you can indeed return it to us for the full life of the warranty.

Update:

Corsair contacted me today to confirm that HX750W and HX850W have 7 Years UK Warranty, I wrote back to confirm the warranty period for the 450W version but I am still waiting for a response.

I will update the thread as soon as I have an answer for you.
