    Build time on 3xs systems

This is a bit of a longshot but what sort of time does it take to build and ship a 3XS system - assuming stock availability of course?

Reason for asking is that my main rig developed a fault last night which I could fix but I've been salivating over a top of the line 3XS system for a while now and it makes for a great excuse to buy one.

Problem is, ideally I need the system (fized main rig or 3XS) for Easter which gives Scan about 3 days

What do folks think... any chance at all that a quick call to Scan this morning would result is a shiney new 3XS arriving next Thursday or would I be better fixing the current PC and waiting for the next round of hardware innovations (hybrid drives and genuine quad core spring to mind) before ordering the 3XS.

    Thx

    Spyder,

The time from placing the order to getting the 3xs system is 7 working days.

This is because usually the system goes into build a couple of days after the date of order subject to stock availability and then the systems themselves are built and go through a long QC process to ensure stability.

For example the machines are build then put onto memtest overnight to ensure there are no issues with the memory and there are no errors.

Then the cpu and graphics card are tested under different applications to ensure stability of the machine.

Any machine we build goes through the same QC proceedure and when the systems are shipped we leave all the testing benchmarks on the desktop so the customers have piece of mind that the systems have been testing throughly

In all honesty I would say it would be doubtful we could build the system in the time frame given.

Thanks for the info Carl... tbh I thought I was pushing things a little

Given the imminent price cuts from Intel and some of the innovations we'll be seeing later in the year I suspect I'll be better off fixing my main rig and waiting a while before ordering.

That said, I really do like the looks of the 3XS systems and the level of service SCAN provide so I'll definately be back.

Why not build your own, 3XS may be hassel free and you get a fully working PC, but IMO building a PC is far more fun, far more satisfying, get more for your money and it is quite simple
