    XBox360 Officially priced

The wait is finally over, MS have given us an official price.

    £210 for basic system.
The aggressive pricing will see a 'core system' version of the machine (which comes with a wired controller, faceplate and standard AV cable) selling for £210.
£280 for the fully loaded option
    # A premium edition version of Xbox 360 (distinguished by metallic detailing)
    # 20GB detachable hard drive
    # Wireless controller
    # Removable faceplate
    # Headset
    # HD-AV cable
    # Xbox Live silver membership (which will allow you to access new content from Xbox Live Marketplace, such as trailers, demos and casual games from Xbox Live Arcade)
    # Media remote (which will allow you to control DVD playback and music as well as access the controls of a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PC)
More info can be found here including a list of accessories available and prices.

Quite surprised at the price, makes a change that the dollar-to-pound ratio has finally been broken. Game are currently taking pre-orders via their internet site but not in the shops yet.

Not bad, would still wait a bit after release though, unless they have strong release games...did I hear Halo 2?

I saw this today and was pretty impressed with the pricing, and the two packs available. I'd better scoot off and check out whether any upcoming games look sexy enough to justify another Xmas present

Wow, at this price I may actually buy one, though a good few months after relase, when there is a decent choice of games, and the prices have drop a little bit

That's a very good price. A few pounds more, and a few months more waiting than the PSP for a next-gen machine. For those with a limited gaming spending budget who were going to get one or the other, I can't see many people not going with the Xbox.

I'm going to preorder it with a store where I live. Better then waiting for the postie!

And I'm gonna get the VGA cable.

Anyone looked thru the game list at Game? All the good launch games aren't on the launch list?

The price is pretty good but what % of the xbox back catalogue will be able to play on the new machine ? I have seen reports that microsoft are aiming to have 'most' of the old games playable - hopefully as many as possible. We have have our favorite xbox games and it would be a pity if the new machine will not play them.

I think its most of the ones that used the hard drive will be playable, they are covering their arses by saying "most" as they won't be able to test EVERY single game.

Good price, but I'd wish they'd bumped up the price by £20 and integrated a wireless network adaptor in it. Wireless networks are becoming very popular for home networks and how many parents want Timmy running 20 meters of Cat5 up to his bedroom?

Also, I'm very unimpressed how the HD doesn't come as standard. Sony has already experienced how if something isn't included as standard (HD, network adaptor) then it'll hardly get any developer support.

However, if it gets Pro Evolution 6, I'll probably buy one.

At the moment no games have been confirmed for release day.

It seems that MS will determine what games will be compatable, and the code will be included on the HDD. MS are in a difficult situation in that they don't own the technology in the current Xbox, so making it backward compatable would mean MS paying royalties to Nvidia(and the 2 aren't exactly friends at the mo)

I'm going to pre-order mine from the local Game store as soon as they start taking orders, they implied that it may be next week when this starts.
