    Hmmmm...

Am I to take it from the absence of threads that no one has tried a Windows Phone?

I'm sorely tempted. Went into an O2 shop the other day and was discussing for about 10 minutes with the shop guy. He found Windows 7 phone too restrictive, and I came out effectively resolved to get an iPhone.

I'm on Android now on HTC Desire, but due an upgrade. And the Titan looked so nice...

I'm on windows phone. It's great, there's nothing restrictive about it as far as I can tell. It just work (I know it's a cliche...) and is a much nicer interface than iOS if you ask me. There are now more than 30,000 apps too so it's catching up with the other platforms. Mango is effectively out now too so it's better than ever.

If you have an un-rooted phone and want to tinker (e.g. install a non-market place app, such as one from xda-developers) you'll find it restrictive.

If you usedGoogle Maps on android, you will be sorely disappointed with Bing (and gMaps is still way behind)...

I'm currently holding out for whatever the next HTC Android phone with 4.3"/qHD screen and then I'll ditch my HD7s...

Can't comment on the first point there but I do like bing maps personally, nothing wrong with it as such.

    Re: Hmmmm...

One factor in favour of iOS as far as I'm concerned is syncing of calendars over iCloud. That's a big thing for me. Will iCloud allow syncing with windows based products? I seem to recall that it might.

Zune and Bing are, to me, like something from the 80s. I say that from the point of view of not having used them on a mobile device, but tend to regard both as dead tech, which no one uses unless they have to. You guys sound like they're OK though.

    Re: Hmmmm...

Zune is good tbh, the PC software that is. Found all my music instantly, and then it was very easy to send it to my phone. Bing search I use as it's more convenient as it's accessed at the touch of a button and it produces near identical results to google in all honesty. Also the local and news functions work very well. I wouldn't know about syncing calendars though.

I know you were pointing it out as a plus over WP7, but you know that you can already do calendar sync with Android, right?

My wife uses ios4 on her 3Gs and the reason she is currently trial running my windows phone is the music she loves the layout of zune on the phone and got its so simple to hook it up to the pc it syncs no issues takes my pics and movies off.

Got my atrix yesterday and the music sync took 2 hours as it crashed every time so had to manual transfer my music over.

when she put her music on the iphone at that point we had about 6gbs of music on windows media player itunes converted the whole lot into 20 gbs of music so she could only get a fraction on her phone and 90% of my music was put on at highest quality on windows.

Currently the missus has had my lg optimus 7 since last night and i have had no complaints so far which is pretty good as she is a pain in the butt when it comes to phones.

Yeah that reminds me if you are getting a wp7 phone look for one with 16gb like the optimus 7, as there's no expansion slot. I'm very please with 16gb though it's a good amount.

Erm, probably not as its applie.... I keep my calandar sync'd via exchange, but you can also use the free cloud service from MS.

Don't get what you mean? Zune is much nicer than iTunes in every way, it also doesn't infect your system with a web browser...... Bing as a mobile app is great, thou I wish you could set what ever you like on the search button without dev-unlocking it...

Also on the note of unlocking them, there is a semi-offical tool for this from the guys who made the last one, Microsoft seem to be embracing those guys.
