Richh is your man seeing as I gave up on RAID ages ago.
Hopefully he's going to do a nice tutorial for me to sticky on the abit-USA forum.

Guess I'll have to wait for him to come online, (twiddles thumbs)
Lol, daza, am writing the tutorial referred to by BUFF in another window as I speak, look for it on the Abit forum shortly.
BUFF - clear your Abit pm folder (again)!

Ok no problem I'll go have dinner then, anychance anyone could post a linky when its done

Article very bare at the moment, but it'll show you what you need to get up and running in RAID 0

Any update yet richh as I still cant get the raid working yet, guess I'm missing something obvious but the manual doesn't say anything about raid unless I'm blind.
Edit found it, only one problem when I reboot I get stuck at a screen which says"intel matrix storage manager option ROM v6 .1.0.1002 ICH8R wRAID 5" and I've got to clear the cmos to get into the bios.

So have you gone through creating the RAID array, or doesn't it let you get to that stage?
Make sure that you have the JMB363 set in IDE mode. Also, how many drives do you have connected to the ICH8R?

Nop it happens just as it resarts after changing "onchip IDE device" to raid, I save exit and get stuck at that screen, I was using six drives just tried four drives and it got stuck, worked with just two will try 3 and report back.
Right I can make an array yay. BUT it can only have two drives in it, and if I put any more drives in after setting up the raid in freezes at startup just my luck dont why as the settings are all the same although I'm trying with six 160gig drives thick I'll wait till abit release another bios.
To be honest there is between little and no point in creating a RAID 0 array with more than two drives. You're into the law of diminishing returns beyond a pair. Six is a complete waste - what do you need that sort of I/O bandwidth for?
When I get the opportunity I'll try and recreate what you're trying to do, just to try and determine whether you're suffering a systems issue. If you are intent on using four or more disks I'd suggest using RAID 5.

No thats the point I was trying to create a four disk raid 10 array but it will only let me have two disks plugged in if I have three or four it just freezes and I've got to reset the cmos. My end plan was to have twos disks in raid 1, and four disks in raid 10, but since the mobo/bios wont let me I think I just have six individual disks so I can use them.
