    AB9 QuadGT Error 8.2

    Hi all,

I've just purchased this board and can't get past the 8.2 error code. The mobo manual says "Enable ATX power supply".
I have a 520W PSU and i'm using a 4 pin molex to 8pin adapter. I have tried using just the 4 pin but getting the same error code.

    I'm using Corsair (ddr2) 2GB pair @533

    thank you for your ideas

    Is that the one?
If it is, could be where your problems are. The amps are pretty poor.
You need a good PSU for the core2 boards.

what's the rest of your setup?

That's the one more or less. More or less because mine has a lower rating of 520W.
I guess that's where the matter is then?

the rest of my setup is:
    - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT
    - onboard sound/LAN
    - 2GB Corsair DDR2 533
    - Maxtor 160GB SATA
    - Samsung Writemaster optical drive

Almost certain mate. The amps on that PSU for 550w is a joke - the 520w will only be worse.

The rest of your setup is fairly simple, and I don't know of any issues with the parts.

Ive used Tagans on a few QuadGT builds and have had nothing but excellent results. Just stick to the usual big brands. If you're unsure just ask for recommendations with your budget in the hardware forum

    Thanks Agent! Much appreciated.
One last question be4 i head off to the h/w forum, what would be your personal PSU recommendation for my setup, allowing for some room to grow in future?

    Thanks again for your help!

PSUs are the foundation of a modern system & it's worth paying for a decent 1.
My personal recommend would be something like the FSP Epsilon 600W/OCZ GameXStream 600W ~£80.
Yes, it may be overkill now but if you upgrade to something like an 8800GTS ...
