    FP-IN9 SLI Overclocking issues

Hi ppl am new to this forum - I have just purchased a FP-IN9 motherboard and having major overclocking issues using bios 12. Am running a E4300 and can get the cpu to 2.4ghz with no problem w/ no voltage increase. However if i go any higher it will not post or freezes up while gaming. I have also had it to 3.0Ghz 333x9 and was orthos stable for 12 hours and gaming for 6 hours no errors. I turned of my pc and rebooted the next day to find out it would not boot again so i had to return to 2.4ghz.

Theres a few options in the bios am not sure off, under computer features.

    Thermal control
    Limit Cpuid max val
    Execute disable
    Frequency unlimit
    Core multi process

Witch of these options should be enabled or disabled when overclocking.

I have tried numerous ways to get a stable OC without success - added more volts to NB/CpuVtt run ram at sync/looser timings added more Vcore but its just not working.Seems strange as at 3.0Ghz it was rock solid stable but wouldn't turn on the next day. (cold boot issue?)

Is the beta bios 13 worth a try i have read it works for some ppl but i don't want to break anything as its all new.

    Any advice much appreciated

    Specs:
    E4300 @ 2.4ghz
    Abit FP-IN9 SLi
    Geil 2GB @DDR800 4-4-4-12
    BFG 8800GTS OC
    SB Audigy 2 ZS

Updated the bios to beta 13 and will test overnight. Strange thing is in computer features options i now have:

EIST function - wasn't there before
    Thermal Control
    Limit Cpuid max val
C1e Function. wasn't there before either

Maybe they fixed something, Theres also 3 missing options i had before, Execute disable bit - Core multi process - Frequency unlimit. Hope this bios improves the stabilty witch will then turn out to be a great board. Peace

Which Beta 13 bios are you using? I'm running the same CPU and board and a beta 13 bios but don't see half of those options... and I also don't get any sinificant overclockage, 2.02GHz @ 900MHz FSB seems to be my stable limit, anything else causes random lockups.
Would be VERY grateful if somebody could email me the latest beta 13 bios file.

    Thanx!

    ^^ Beta 13 bios

Am still having troubles with this board. No mater how much voltage i add i can't get above 2.4Ghz with my E4300.

    Vcore 1,35
    Nb 1,41
    Cpu VTT 1.39

    E4300@2.4Ghz

I had it at 3.0GHZ stable for a full weekend but wouldn't boot from being of for 24 hours.

I'm now sure it's my board thats the problem and not my CPU. Even with the multiplier dropped to 6x I can't boot at 1200MHz FSB, or even at 1066- despite the fact that neither would even puch my CPU past it's stock speed. I'd really like to get my hands on a 1066FSB chip just so I can test the mobo out with it to see what happens.

I was getting the same. Lower multiplier, higher FSB, default speed = failure.

I think it's the board too. I have a friend with the same board and same CPU (E4300), but he has a quailty PSU and only one HDD, but he experiences the same problems.

What really annoys me is the reviewers who state that this board is a great O/Cer to about 3Ghz+. Nope.

To be fail, the vast majority of these reviews are using an E6600 or something. This leads me to think that this board will only havea stable O/C with a 1066FSB chip. True?

Cheers for that info about your mate... I was thinking of chucking ina Corsair HX620 PSU but I don't think I'll bother unless I sort my OCing woes first or go SLI as I doubt it will make any difference.
Yes it would be good to find out if ANYONE is having any real success OCing 800FSB CPUs in this board. It certainly suggests to me that it's probably more of a BIOS issue than anything else, question is are ABit going to do anything to fix it?

I have got mine at 2.4ghz stable (last 5days) all stock volts, had it at 3ghz stress tests/gaming/3Dmark for 3 days without reboot, Turned it on next day wouldn't boot. It seems with mine when i reboot it has trouble at different Oc settings, i have gamed on 2.5 - 2.8Ghz stable for few days then next day wouldn't boot. 2.4Ghz on beta 13 bios is were am at now, Just installed vista ultimate so will get back to Oc it some more. And my new OCZ psu should help had a crappy generic one before.

    Bios 12

Hi, I've just ventaured into overclocking on this board and heres my results:

    E6700 2.66 @3.33

    Bios v12

    Soft Menu settings:

    SLI-Ready Memory: Expert
    CPU Operating Speed: Linked
    FSB: 1333
    FSB:Memory Ratio: 3:2 (Estimated 888.9)

    CPU Core Voltage: 1.3500V
    DDR2 Voltage: 2.20V
    DDR2 REF Vaolage: 0.0%
    CPU VTT Voltage: 1.31V
    NB Voltage: 1.31V

Temps under load (2 x prime 95 - Tourture Test In-place large FFts) reported by speed fan are:
    System: 27C
    CPU:45C
    AUX: 46C
    Temp1: 42C
    Core 0: 44C
    Core 1: 44C

The only annoying thing is that the voltages don't seem to stick on cold boot, has this been addressed in any of the beta bios'?

I've now managed to get my E6700 upto 3.5Ghz
    Soft Menu settings:

    SLI-Ready Memory: Disabled
    CPU Operating Speed: UnLinked
    FSB: 1400
    Memory: 800Mhz (4-4-4-12-2T)

    CPU Core Voltage: 1.3750V
    DDR2 Voltage: 2.20V
    DDR2 REF Vaolage: 0.0%
    CPU VTT Voltage: 1.31V
    NB Voltage: 1.31V

Temps under load (2 x prime 95 - Tourture Test In-place large FFts) reported by speed fan are:
    System: 28C
    CPU:48C
    AUX: 50C
    Temp1: 48C
    Core 0: 47C
    Core 1: 47C

I just hope this cold boot issue is addressed with a new bios (as mentioned in last post)

    going for 3.6 now...

    DDR2 Voltage: 2.20V
    DDR2 REF Vaolage: 0.0%
    CPU VTT Voltage: 1.35V
    NB Voltage: 1.43V

    Idle/Load Temps:

    System: 28C / 28C
    CPU: 29C / 49C
