IB9 WiFi new build, can't load Windows etc.

I've started this thread on behalf of a work colleague who is having problems with a new build. As above he has an IB9, Core2 Duo E6600, 2 gigs PC6400 and an 8800 GTS.
Once assembled he prepared to load Windows onto the new HDD, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option to boot from CD drive. He has checked in BIOS and changed boot order to CD, but the machine insists on trying to boot from floppy.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to get this new build up and running, it may well be something and nothing, and I'm sure you guys can point us in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance.

The CD drive will show in the bios as the drive name rather than just CD device i.e if you are using a sony CD rom it would show up as SONY-(model name). When selecting the first boot device scroll down to the bottom of list and select the deivce.

    I hope this helps.

That's where it kind of falls down, there is no option to boot from "normal" CD drive, apparently there are optiond for a SATA cd rom, or a USB cd rom but not the cd drive as you would expect. I'm not sure if his cd shows up in the BIOS by name or not, but that is a different section isn't it to first boot device ?
I've not seen the computer, but he says all it wants do is boot from floppy, it even makes the floppy access noise.
It all sounds a bit strange for a new mobo, so we shall see what occurs from here.
