Hi all,
I-F90HD BIOS 13 requires FlashMenu 1.5.0.5
http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/en/moth...pPRODINFO=BIOS
but the latest FlashMenu on the website is 1.5.0.3
http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/en/moth...tal1ty+F-I90HD
or
http://file.abit.com.tw/pub/download...ies/flashmenu/
Where can I download 1.5.0.5? Thanks.
there is a guy on the abit forums who apparently got it from abit UK & is hosting it.
I have version 1.5.0.5. If anyone wants it let me know.
Is it safer than previous versions? There are topics - "flashmenu killed xxx mobo"
There is always a risk when flashing the bios in windows. The safest way has always been DOS.
Hi,
I've always used the flashmenu version that was included on my m/b cd.
I've not got a floppy drive and all atempts to boot from a usb drive failed.
I hope Abit start to encourage windows flashing as its so much easier.
Just remember NO overclocking when doing it.

Overclocking is just one of the issues when flashing the bios in windows. There are lots of programs running in the background that can affect the flashing procedure.
Decided to flash using DOS just to be safe. Used the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool at http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197
You need the tool and the bootable files. Here is the link to the bootable files - http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=196.
You'll need Windows XP. I tried making the bootable USB disk in Vista but that didn't work.
Bios 13 fixed a few issues for me:
1. the CPU temperature works
2. 512mb video mem did not work in Vista - the new bios removes 512mb as an option (not really a fix)
3. logitech dinovo keyboard works in bios after setting video mem to 256mb (it didn't with bios 12)
4. detect 4-4-4-12 memory correctly (detecting as 5-5-5-18 previously)

yahui168 - Great little how-to. Thats what I originally tried but I didn't have XP so stuck with the windows flasher end the end.
As ABit Sean said though make sure any running programs are closed first (including antivirus software) and your system is running stable in windows.
I've only ever had one issue falshing in windows with a gigabyte board about 7 years ago, I've been very impressed with the abit one

A lot of the recent problems using flash menu that I have seen have been under Vista.....

version 1.5.0.3 works in vista as i tested it,the version before that did not as i tested that one as well and had to do a hotflash of the bios chip.
hmm... is flashing under repair mode in windows safer?
