    Unhappy Abit AW9D-Max issues

    Hi,

1st post here, sorry its to moan

I have bought the Abit AW9D-max board and I'm having major issues with it.

I transfered my Old 7800GTX into it and the system worked ok for a cpl of hours then shut down, and would reboot no matter what I tried, unitl I took the card out. Tested the card in another system and its now totally dead.

Also I had 4Gb ram working fine in this system, until a BSOD and upon reboot Os wouldnt load, after much investigation (Memtest mainly) I have found out that 2 of my 1Gb XMS2 sticks are giving errors. One boots but errors in memtest and causes BSOD, the other just sticks on od on cmos.

I am running everything on stock settings, except for the DDR voltage which is at 2.1v and the timing which has been set to 4-4-4-12. Bios version is 15.

What I would like to know is

Have I just been unlucky in blowing my 7800GTX and 2Gb ram, or is there something else causing components to fail. I have requested an RMA for the Xms2, should I also raise one for the Mobo?

    Thanks

It is possible the card was damaged when moving it, did you take anti-static precautions? Are you sure you didn't knock something?

Faulty memory is quite common but are you saying it did work fine in a previous system and stopped after you moved it over?

Hi, PC was built in an antistactic environment (My work antistatic precautions could'nt have been more), The memory worked in an old system, as did the graphics before moving it to the new Abit board, where it worked for a couple of hours before it broke.
