Abit AN-M2HD motherboard Pioneer DVR 212 SATA not working

Sometimes the SATA DVR seems to lockup - nothing happens for maybe a minute or two - (when reading, DVD boot etc) and then it resumes. The problem goes away when I use an IDE drive but with a brand new Pioneer DVR-212 SATA drive it is too frequent. Pioneer Firmware is 1.22 and ABIT motherboard Bios is V15. Any ideas?

Looks like an issue with Pioneers drive firmware. This problem is not related to just Abit and happens with different Pioneer models.

Here we encountered the same problem, the AN-M2HD has compatible issue with some SATA DVD-ROM.
We found this compatible issue resulting from NVIDIA chipset.
We have report this problem to NVIDIA and wait their solution.
