Memory and PSU/HSF for IP35 pro

    Im purchasing a IP35 pro, with a Q6600,
so i decided upon DDR2 6400 memory which should do me fine for a good overclock,
I know boards can have issues with 4*1gb dimms when OC'ing and performance issues compared to
2*2gb dimms. As the price difference is quite large i cant see me using more than 4GB of ram till i upgrade the whole PC again.

So any suggestions on stable.cost effective 4gb solutions in this board , cas5 is fine for me.

Also considering corsair 520Hx psu i know some people have had issues but should i really have a problem with this.

Also need HSF thats quiet, i might well use a lower overclock if its quieter, used Zalman several times before so considering a 9700 HSF, will be going in a P182 case.

    thanks for your time.

Re: Memory and PSU/HSF for IP35 pro

    I've got a 520HX with my IP35 Pro + Q6600 - works absolutely fine.

I settled for a ThermalTake Big Typhooon VX120 for my heatsink. Seems to keep my Q6600@3.0GHz nice and cool+quiet with the fan running at half speed (1000 RPM), and that is with the CPU fully loaded 24/7 doing Grid jobs. Plus it provides some additional cooling to the northbridge, being a top-down fan.

I've just bought 2 more 1 GiB dimms, to take my total up to 4 Gigs. They'll be arriving tomorrow... so can't tell you how well that works right now.

Yup - 4*1GiB dimms works absolutely peachy. Not that I had any doubts. I love my IP35 pro

Yes it does, but I only end up with 3.25 GB as viewed in Windows XP pro, it being 32-bit and all.

    And I have a 8800 GTS 640MB
