yeh good luck with that
Its not going to happen unfortunately.
This was an enthusiasts board but has been superseeded a few times now though and is a couple of generations behind.
I am peeved aswell, becasue although i love the board and still use it, the support for it is ABSOLUTE RUBBISH considering it costs well over £100 even now. I stuck to Bios 13 as the issues from then on were endless and ABIT didnt care to do anything about it.
As much as i think Asus are no better at customer support (maybe worse), at least they seem keen to release Bios updates so thats where my money will probably go next time.
SCAN were knocking them out for under £60 the other week & some people recently got them from OcUK where the carr. was more than the cost of the board (about £3) due to a pricing error.
I was sorely tempted but I don't need another board & as you say it's now a couple of generations behind.
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
You are hardly impartial though are you.
Also, it may well be a little behind now but its still keeping up with the newer boards in that price bracket. I cant think of any reason to change it besides not supporting the next Quads (which is no big deal as yet)......Thats why it should be supported.

actually I am pretty impartial - I'm not an abit employee or anything like that & I'm certainly not averse to recommending other mobo manufacturer's boards when imo it's appropriate & I've even been known to take my own advice.
In fact I'm running an Asus now & that replaced a Gigabyte (on hindsight I should have kept the Gigabyte as it was better).
No 975X will get near a 965 let alone a P35 in fsb terms. Also, it may well be a little behind now but its still keeping up with the newer boards in that price bracket. If someone was looking to run stock or a mild overclock I might consider recommending a 975X mobo as it's still the fastest chipset clock for clock but for pretty much anything else I wouldn't.
The board is still being supported i.e. we know that there is a 16 beta.
I only have a 32% OC and im happy with that. Surely the same CPU on a P35 board or 965 board with the same overclock would make no difference. Or would it?No 975X will get near a 965 let alone a P35 in fsb terms
How do you mean, the fastest chipset clock for clock?
actually the 975X may be faster, see below.
However, the 975X may not be able to achieve the same core overclock if you have a CPU with a low multi e.g. E6300 with 7x & the extra overclock will offset or beat the slight chipset performance differential.
on 975X 450fsb (3.15GHz) would be a good result whereas on a 965 or P35 over 500fsb (3.5GHz) is certainly feasible.
Quads make the fsb difference even worse as most 975Xs will only get mid 300s & the P35s will do upper 400s.
If you run the same CPU at the same settings on a 975X v on a 965/P35 then the 975X will be slightly quicker due to internal timings/latencies.How do you mean, the fastest chipset clock for clock?
This really kicks in over 400fsb compared to most 965s where they switch to the looser 1333 strap (a few like the AB9 QuadGT don't).
Ah.......so even though it may be an older chipset, its still no slouch. Shame it cant take the next gen quads really as if it did i would keep it.
