    IP32 PRO or PSU?

    Dear all,
I recently bought my IP32 PRO and Corsair 620hx PSU. My computer I built was working fine for a month and a half with no problems until now. The problem is that my PC will not power down. I shut down from windows. I hear the the hard drives go off but the CPU fans and and sytem fans and mb all remain on. 9.9 is displayed on the MB. I've tried powering down from the pc switch to no avail. the only way i can shut down the pc is via the psu switch.
I tried booting up with the bare minimum i.e. 1 stick of ram etc. Still when i press the PSU switch at the back the PC automatically boots up. The case switches seem to have no effect. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?
    I'm suspecting the PSU.

    Pls anyone have any ideas?

Well, don't think it will be a problem with your PSU or M/B. I've had this before and think if I can remember that it was an operating system shutdown problem . Can't remember if it was win 98 or XP though. I have a habit of reformating my drives every so often especially if I feel they are getting 'slow'. Apart from adding more 'Ram' it is the easiest way to rejuvenate the machine in question. May not work for you but just a suggestion.

Double check all the power switch buttons to the motherboard - it shouldn't be automatically turning on as soon as power goes to it. That at least rules out OS issues, since the OS hasn't started to load at all.

Out of the two though I'd suspect the motherboard as that controls whether things are on or not, the PSU simply supplies power - it can't force it to turn on (as far as I'm aware).

Try disconnecting all the headers from the case panel switches and LEDs. Then, use a jumper block or screwdriver to short the 2 pins for the power switch and start your system this way. It's possible you have a bad case switch.

In any event, I don't think the PSU is causing the issue. It simply turns on or off when the MOBO tells it to.

It's got an onboard on/off switch.

the screwdriver is more old school = more fun Some PSU's keep fans on for a few minutes after shutdown, does ur corsair do that?
