    Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

Please help me resolving this problem of random bluescreens.
I've updated to 1.6 bios but still the same.

Now I'm back to my old proc E6550.
Will the 1.8 work with Q9300 though it is only for E0 steppings. my Q9300 is a M1 stepping.

Read This, not sure if works E0 or M1 stepping, so... I have a C0....

    http://forums.hexus.net/abit-care-he...-stepping.html

If you gonna try BIOS18, do it under DOS mode, and a CLEAR CMOS after the BIOS update.

    Good Luck !

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

I did update the Bios to 1.8

And now its true. It indeed work booting up to windows....
    THE PROBLEM IS.
    1. Its not stable. Every software I run keeps crashing here and there.
    2. Bluescreens too...
    This is the bad part....
    but
    Found some good part slightly.
    1. I set the bios manually FSB clock to 1066... equivalent to where the Q6600 is much supported on this board. So the stream is down to the ff:
    -CPU Clock 2000ghz
    -FSB 1066
    -DDR Clock 667
==== It came up to be stable so far for testing several hours around 3-4hrs w/o any apps crashing and bluescreens. But who wants underclocking so I tried doing it higher a bit. Of course tried setting everything manually to FSB 1333 rather than auto. Too bad set manualy still giving the same problem as auto. Same goes adjusting the CPU voltage and DDR2 voltage.
So I tried setting the FSB to 1330 just making it close to its original FSB but same problem as well.

    2. STABLE SO FAR THOUGH haven't tested it for couple of days just for 3-5 hours, still monitoring it.
    FSB 1300 || CPU: 2437mhz || DDR2: 800mhz
I guess I'll settle on this clock and settings until I can buy a new motherboard.

I'm only until here to make the whole system stable. Doing some underclocking.
I'm not an expert tweaker though some of you might find some more effective way tweaking it making it stable to its default clock or overclock(w/c I haven't tried yet).

WINDOWS XP ONLY. IN VISTA STILL RAMDOM BLUESCREENS.

    Once again, 650i chipset DOES NOT support officially 45nm quad's . With 650i just work 65nm duo's, 65nm quad's and ONLY 45nm duo's.

actually it's even more complicated than that ...

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

what it means is that the chipset itself is capable of supporting the CPU but most of the existing motherboards weren't able to because the rest of their hardware wasn't upto it (largely power related iirc, this was down to Intel originally not telling nVidia everything about quad requirements & nVidia therefore not getting their initial design guidelines to the mobo manufacturers right).

Ok, but I don't understand why Abit says that FP-IN9 supports 45nm quad's in its CPU list, when in reality this board DOESN'T DO IT!

You are so f.u.c.k.ing right. /agree exactly

I even dont know what to do next. I bought an expensive cpu, cauz abit said my mobo supports it. That was all I had to know.

And now i have to read that my Nforce 650i doesn't support 45nm cpus.. frustrating...

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

Very sad to know that BIOS18 doesnt seen to work with Intel 45nm Quad´s, at least this Stepping.

Lets hope that Abit can fix the problem or make a oficial statement about this 45nm Quad issue with the nVIDIA 650i/ FP-IN9.

Edit: If you can run your CPU Stable on overclock settings do it. At least you can use your RIG.

    Good Luck guys !

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

    Yep indeed.
Anyway, there are 2 chances left for me.
Tonight I gonna flash my Bios in DOS back to version 16 and clear CMOS.

The other chance is that i change my bios-chip that the customer support will send me. I hope that one of these two will work

    Gonna report you a.s.a.p

it may well support 45nm quads, just not all steppings of 45nm quads ....

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

Yeah.... you guys maybe right.... Too bad for me buying a Q9300 where it isn't really compatible.

Thou Right using the Q9300 w/ this FP IN9 SLI board. Underclocked to 2400ghz. A bit stable since I can play games and run any apps w/o problem using in vista x64.. but sometimes bluescreen pops up like once or twice a day.... I'll hold on to this a bit until I can buy a new mboard. For the least I can run my computer thou its not entirely compatible...

Thumbs up Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

Hope you wrong, at least in the case of this board, as i do have one!

Slashpen lets hope that Abit can do something about it before you change your board.

    Regard

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

Planning to get a 750i board to replace this....

For now. I'll enjoy this situation a bit. Although its underclocked to 2.4ghz but as long as it wont go bluescreen while I'm playing I keep on to this board. Hoping there would be a bios that can stabilize this default clocks of Q9300 to fully work with FP IN9 SLI....

    Re: Help Fatal1ty IN9 SLI and Q9300

I have bad news for you guys...
The new bioschip arrived yesterday, but changed nothing. Even the CMOS-clearing and the "flashing-back" to version 16 changed nothing. It still doesn't work. It makes me sick...really..

Now the guys where I bought my cpu gonna try their best. Whatever happens, its good for me I guess

    Stay Tuned, (and buy asus)
